How to UseTool Guide

Filter Builder

Customize generated lottery combinations with structured filters

Filter Builder is a LottoXray tool for generating lottery combinations using specific rules. You can define how the generated games should be structured, exclude numbers, force numbers into sorted positions, adjust odd/even balance, and work with sequence rules. This guide uses Powerball as the example, so Powerball settings refer to the separate red Powerball number.

As filters are applied, LottoXray updates the mathematical universe and shows how many valid combinations remain under the current configuration.

What Can You Customize?

Core options for shaping generated combinations

Filter Builder gives you several ways to control how generated combinations are built. Depending on the selected lottery game, available options may include:

Number ranges
Odd/even balance
Sequence rules
Repeated ending rules
Excluded numbers
Exclude last draw
Key numbers
Forced positions
Powerball filters
These options can be used together to narrow the number pool and define the structure of the games that LottoXray generates.
2
How Does It Work?

Live mathematical feedback as you filter

As you select filters, LottoXray recalculates the number of possible games that still match your configuration. This count updates automatically so you can see whether your filters leave a broad universe, a smaller focused set, or no valid combinations.

If selected filters conflict with each other, the system may show that no games are available under the current configuration.

Odd/Even Balance

Define how many odd and even numbers appear

The odd/even filter lets you choose how many odd and even numbers should appear in each generated combination. In a 5-number white-ball game, possible structures include:

4
Sequence Rules

Allow or restrict number sequences

Sequence filters let you choose whether generated games may include number sequences. LottoXray can allow or restrict combinations with numbers that appear next to each other.

5
Exclude Last Draw Numbers

Remove the most recent draw from the pool

Filter Builder can exclude numbers from the most recent draw. When this option is enabled, LottoXray removes those drawn numbers from the eligible pool before generating new combinations. Using Powerball as the example, the same idea can apply to the red Powerball pool.

This feature is structural only. It does not imply that recently drawn numbers are more or less likely to appear again.

Excluded Number Markers

Excluded numbers use the same red outline, but last-draw exclusions add a small marker. Regular filter exclusions can come from direct number selection, range rules, odd/even rules, or other filters.

Excluded Numbers

Manually remove numbers from the pool

You can manually exclude numbers you do not want to appear in generated games. Excluded numbers are removed from the available pool, and LottoXray updates the mathematical count to reflect the remaining possibilities.

In Powerball, red Powerball values can also be excluded.

7
Key Numbers vs Forced Positions

Two ways to lock numbers in

In the Powerball example below, click one of the 69 available white balls to open the Configure White Ball popup. Choosing C4 forces the selected white ball to appear as the fourth number after the five white balls are sorted from lowest to highest. For example, if you generate 10 games with number 24 forced into C4, all 10 games will place 24 in the fourth sorted column: three white balls must be lower than 24, and one white ball must be higher than 24.

After a number is configured, Filter Builder uses the markers below to distinguish available numbers, key numbers, and forced column positions.

Key and Forced Position Markers

Key numbers use a filled ball that follows the user's selected color. The cyan shown here is only the example theme. Forced column positions keep the filled ball and add a separate C1-C5 marker to show the required sorted column.

18
Available number
May be selected or skipped when games are generated.
10
Key number
Must appear anywhere in the white-ball set.
24C4
Force column position
Must appear in that sorted column.
In Powerball, a key number only needs to appear somewhere in the five white-ball combination, while a forced position requires the number to appear in a specific sorted column, from C1 through C5.

Powerball Settings

Separate controls for the red Powerball

Using Powerball as the example, Filter Builder can also apply rules to the red Powerball pool. You may be able to force a specific Powerball to appear, exclude Powerball values, apply odd/even rules to the Powerball, or restrict Powerball ranges.

The Powerball number is calculated separately from the white-ball universe and then combined into the full-game count.

9
Generating Games

How many games can you generate?

After choosing your filters, you can generate games that match the selected configuration. The generated games follow the selected filters, but they remain lottery combinations based on random independent events.

FAQ

Filter Builder questions

What does Filter Builder do in LottoXray?

Filter Builder lets you generate lottery combinations using selected rules, such as ranges, odd/even balance, sequence settings, excluded numbers, key numbers, forced positions, and special-ball filters when the game supports them.

What happens if my filters conflict?

LottoXray recalculates the available combination count as filters change. If the selected rules conflict, the remaining count can fall to zero, meaning no generated games match the current setup.

Can Filter Builder control the special ball?

Yes, in games with a special ball, Filter Builder can provide separate controls for that ball. In Powerball, the red Powerball is filtered separately from the five white balls.

Does Filter Builder predict lottery results?

No. Filter Builder is a mathematical filtering and organization tool. It controls the structure of generated combinations, but lottery drawings remain random and independent.
